About
The Center for Free Enterprise has advanced research and teaching on how enterprise and entrepreneurship drive societal well-being, offering students opportunities to apply innovation.
Where ideas meet impact
Founded in 2015, the Center for Free Enterprise explores how entrepreneurship, innovation and enterprise contribute to a thriving and productive society. We believe principled entrepreneurship and economic freedom are powerful tools for improving lives and communities.
Our work centers on education and research. We support faculty and students in examining how markets work, how businesses grow and how entrepreneurial thinking drives meaningful change — regardless of a student’s major or career goals.
CFE faculty fellowships, visiting scholars and student reading groups create opportunities for research, discussion and collaboration around the ideas that shape our economy and society.
In addition, the Menard Family Lecture Series features high-profile academics, business execs, authors and nationally and internationally recognized speakers who bring these ideas to life by sharing their real world experience and expertise with our students and the community. Through our programming, we aim to inspire the next generation of innovative, ethical leaders. We aim to inspire the next generation of innovative, ethical leaders.
