Prospective Students
For high school seniors who are Kentucky residents and interested in the University of Louisville's prestigious McConnell Scholars Program
Eligibility
To be eligible for the McConnell Scholars Program, you must:
- Be a Kentucky resident and high school senior at the time of application
- Have an outstanding academic record (minimum 3.5 GPA and 26 ACT/1230 SAT)
- At least minor in political science at the University of Louisville
Requirements
The following application materials must be submitted by December 1:
- One essay
- Résumé
- Two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a high school teacher

30 finalists invited to a two-day interview process
*Please note that these dates are subject to change. Interviews traditionally occur at the end of February or beginning of March.
Award winners are notified by postal mail
All applicants selected for the program will be notified by the end of March.
Shadow a Scholar
For Kentucky high school seniors: accompany a current McConnell Scholar to class at UofL, tour campus and meet McConnell Center and university staff. Email the McConnell Center to arrange a visit.
