Clinical Trials Program
The Clinical Trials Program (CTP) is under the leadership of our Deputy Director for Clinical Research, Dr. Rebecca Redman, M.D. and our Director of Clinical Research and Support, Ceara Herovic MSN, RN, CCRC. The CTP has 28 full-time staff members, including managers, clinical research nurses and coordinators, biorepository technicians and regulatory and financial staff. At any given time, the CTP manages 100-125 open phase I-III trials involving participation by over 750 cancer patients.
Our goal is to develop new treatments that allow cancer patients to live longer and better lives. At the University of Louisville Brown Cancer Center, our doctors and researchers specialize in treating and studying specific types of cancer, allowing us to offer clinical trials of some of the newest technologies and cancer therapies available. Our portfolio consists of clinical trials initiated by UofL investigators and oncologists, National Cancer Institute cooperative group trials and pharmaceutical industry-sponsored clinical trials. In addition, the Cancer Database & Specimen Repository unites clinicians, researchers and patients in a quest for new scientific discoveries in the fight against cancer.
