Overview
Our animal core facility provides the opportunity to conduct basic through translational research with BSL2, BSL3 and select agent pathogens using various small animal models. Areas of research include but are not limited to:
- Animal model development
- Investigational new drug screening
- Biomarker discovery
- Natural history of infection
- Disease pathogenesis
- Vaccine efficacy
Our experienced staff provide high-quality, personalized services for research with mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, cotton rats, ferrets and rabbits. We provide detailed protocols and study reports along with documented sources of all animals and materials. All animal studies are conducted in compliance with UofL Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee policies.
