Scholarship Opportunities

The LCTRC PD Core offers two scholarships: the Dean's Research Scholars, with a request for applications announced in September, and the Presidential Scholars, with a request for applications announced in the spring, typically in January. Both scholarships are designed to commence in July for the upcoming academic year.

Dean's Research Scholars

Dean's Research Scholars are awarded to medical students who aspire to become a physician-scientist a one-year, paid fellowship. View the DRS handbook or click the link above to apply.

Presidential Scholars

Presidential Scholars are awarded to junior faculty, within 5 years of initial appointment, with 50% protected time for one year.

ISCORE-RC

The IDeA State Consortium for Clinical Research Resource Center (ISCORE-RC) is now available as a resource for clinical research teams. ISCORE-RC offers a comprehensive training program for clinical research coordinators and a dedicated clinical service core designed to enhance capacity for increased clinical study opportunities.

Made possible by funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), this innovative resource center facilitated by the West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute is revolutionizing access to clinical research opportunities for underserved populations in Institutional Development Award (IDeA) states, that traditionally have relatively low rates of NIH funding and limited numbers of NIH funded clinical trials.
