Anne Braden Institute Programs

The Anne Braden Institute for Social Justice Research supports scholarship, public programming and student engagement focused on the history and practice of social justice. Through lectures, research awards, oral history projects and exhibitions, the institute advances understanding of social movements, civil rights and equity at the local and national levels. Its programs connect academic research with public audiences and community knowledge. Students play a central role in this work through research, internships and experiential learning opportunities.
