SPEAKERS:

Edward Brown, MBA, MS - Reflections from the implementation of community-engaged research at Norton Healthcare

Eddie Brown is a research scientist at the Norton Research Institute. His work focuses on impacting health at a population level by identifying and designing strategies to mitigate health disparities that disproportionately affect underserved and marginalized communities.  The studies utilize a mixed methods approach integrated within a community-based participatory research framework.

In the past, his team's research has evaluated the impact of targeted community outreach paired with a digital media and marketing campaign to address vaccine hesitancy in West Louisville in collaboration with a local community advisory board.  More recently, his team's work has investigated barriers and facilitators to clinical research participation among historically underrepresented groups.

Kristen Williams - Play Cousins Collective, Co-Founder & Executive Director

An engaging session from our community partner, Kristen Williams, on building trust and meaningful partnerships with community members.

La Creis Kidd, PhD - University of Louisville Clinical & Translational Research Center (Community Engagement & Outreach Core)

Dr. Kidd will share opportunities for research professionals to become more deeply involved with the community.
