Cynthia Corbitt receives NIEHS supplement to R15 Award
September 18, 2025Congratulations to Cynthia Corbitt for receiving an NIEHS supplement to her R15 award entitled "Prenatal Cigarette Smoke Exposure: Impact on Offspring Gut Bacterial Microbiome". This supplement grant provides two years' support for graduate student Isaiah Burciaga to work on Cynthia Corbitt's R15-funded project. Isaiah will use a well-developed murine model of developmental exposure to tobacco smoke and will expand the funded project to include measures of gut-liver-brain axis signaling in offspring exposed to cigarette smoke in utero.
