Cores

Cores at CIEHS provide centralized expertise, infrastructure, and support services that enhance research efficiency and foster collaboration.

Administrative Core
The CIEHS Administrative Core integrates Louisville Regional Community environmental health concerns mediated by Community Engagement Core with Environmental Health Institute and the University of Louisville, and interfaces with the NIEHS Program.
Translational Research Support Core
The TRSC provides the infrastructure required to develop, subsidize, and conduct translational EHS research in partnership with investigators in support of the Center’s overall themes, EHS identity, strategic vision, and aims.
Community Engagement Core
The CEC serves as the bridge between CIEHS scientists and their discoveries, and the community at large - engaging youth, community members, and healthcare providers.
Pilot Project Program
The Pilot Project Program funds innovative environmental health research at UofL, supporting new and established investigators, including community partners, while promoting research dissemination and future grant applications.
Biostatistics & Informatics Facility Core
The BIFC provides statistical and multi-omics support for environmental health research, integrates exposure and health data, and trains investigators in advanced methods to enhance study design, analysis, and dissemination of findings.
Omics & Exposure Assessment Facility Core
The OEFC supports CIEHS research projects and pilot grants, collaborates with other cores, and promotes dissemination of its capabilities and research successes locally, nationally, and internationally.
