McConnell Center Director delivers lecture on Washington, statesmanship at University of Cincinnati
April 7, 2026Gary Gregg, director of the McConnell Center, lectured on 'The Temptation of Washington and the Birth of Constitutional Statesmanship' at the University of Cincinnati's Taft House.
Gregg, a political science professor, holds the Mitch McConnell Chair in Leadership at the University of Louisville. He is the author or editor of nine books including The Presidential Republic, Patriot Sage: George Washington and the American Political Tradition andSecuring Democracy: Why We Have an Electoral College.
Gregg's research interests include the American presidency, American political institutions, and political and constitutional thought at the American founding.
