McConnell Center Fellow to speak at Lincoln Presidential Center
April 2, 2026Thomas Mackey, PhD, a history professor and pre-law advisor at the University of Louisville, is scheduled to speak at the Lincoln Presidential Center tonight at 6 p.m., central. Book signing to follow.
Thomas Mackey, PhD, a McConnell Center Fellow, was invited to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield to kick off the library's summer book series. As a guest speaker, Mackey will discuss his book "A Documentary History of the Civil War Era: Volume 1, Legislative Achievements, " which explores the laws that contributed to the Civil War, as well as those that resulted from it.
A book signing will follow his 6 p.m. lecture. The book is available for purchase online.
