McConnell Scholar Janna Imel ('14) to join Alabama's clinical geropsychology doctoral program

Janna Imel, of Greenup County, Ky., has been awarded a doctoral student position in the University of Alabama’s department of psychology. Imel will pursue a doctoral degree in the clinical geropsychology track under the mentorship of Natalie Dautovich, PhD. The four-year program prepares scientist-practitioners for research and service with older adults.

“I’m very excited to continue my education,” said Imel, who successfully defended her undergraduate thesis on “Comparing Resiliency in Early and Late-Life Bereavement” in the fall.
