McConnell Scholar Meghan Waters ('14) successfully defends honors thesis
April 2, 2026Meghan Waters, of Campbell County, Ky., earned summa cum laude distinction by completing the project.
Waters' undergraduate thesis, "A More Perfect Union: Exploring the Nature and Terms of the American Union," considered the competing themes of compact theory and secession as gleaned through American founding primary source documents. The project was supervised by Gary L. Gregg, PhD, director of the McConnell Center.
Waters, a political science and justice administration double major with a minor in classical languages, earned summa cum laude distinction by completing the honors thesis.
Janna Imel, a senior McConnell Scholar from Greenup County, defended her honors and psychology undergraduate thesis in Fall 2013.
