This training program is based on the RBT Task List (2nd edition) and is designed to meet the 40-hour requirement for RBT Certification.  It is offered independently of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).  Although the BACB requirement is 40 hours, this curriculum contains over 65 hours of content.

This program is comprised of 10 modules and corresponding lessons that cover the tasks outlined in the RBT Task List (2nd Edition).  Topics covered in this program should prepare trainees to sit for the content outlined in the RBT Test Content Outline (3rd Edition)

Registered Behavior Technician Course Information

The University of Louisville Early Childhood Research Center will sponsor a pilot program for the RBT program to ensure rigor, high-quality content, and workforce readiness for future behavior technicians.  We are looking for a group of 10-15 individuals who meet the BACB RBT requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Obtained a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Capable of passing a criminal background and abuse registry check

If your employees meet the above requirements, they are eligible to enroll in our full interactive, developmentally focused, culturally responsive, neurodiversity-affirming curriculum free of charge.  You will have access to all ten modules and corresponding materials, including study guides and practice scenarios.  We will request meaningful feedback on the curriculum from our pilot cohort. Consider taking this rare opportunity or pass this information along to your employees or co-workers who would be interested in pursuing the Registered Behavior Technician credential. You will gain access to one module and corresponding materials, including study guides and practice scenarios.  We will request meaningful feedback on the curriculum from our Subject Matter Experts to ensure rigor, high-quality content, and workforce readiness. Subject Matter Experts will receive curriculum samples in January 2026.
