In my first interview for the McConnell Program, it took no more than three minutes before I was defending my point about the nature of the relationship leaders should have with their constituents. After leaving that room, I realized that if the Program were anything like that interview, I was right where I belonged. In these next four years, I expect to be challenged and invigorated by the kind of discourse that advances thinking and drives change. I couldn't be more excited to join a community of people equally capable of defending their convictions and to learn from all the perspectives each scholar has to offer.
