WAVE3: UofL kicks off weekly data center webinar series

One day after the Louisville Planning and Zoning Committee tabled a new temporary moratorium on data centers, the University of Louisville kicked off a new webinar series aimed at teaching the community about the controversial projects.

According to the Kentucky Energy Planning and Inventory Commission’s (EPIC) report, Kentucky is currently home to 37 data centers, but not all of them are large developments.

24 of the centers are in Jefferson County, and that number will soon increase after the new Campground Road data center comes online later this year. According to the report, it will be the Commonwealth’s first hyper-scale data center.
