UofL Alcohol Research Center receives third round of NIH P50 funding
July 17, 2026
Congratulations to the UofL Alcohol Research Center (ULARC) group led by Craig McClain on the renewal of their NIH-funded P50 grant, “The Role of Nutrition in the Development/Progression of Alcohol-Induced Organ Injury.” This is the only NIH P50 grant at the University of Louisville, and it is now in its third round of funding. ULARC investigators have discovered important insights and new therapies for alcohol-induced organ injury and alcohol use disorder. This renewal will fund four research projects and two core facilities. To learn more about ULARC, contact Craig McClain, 852-6189.
