Kara Beth Poe, of Royalton, Ky., is a member of the McConnell Scholar Class of 2027 at the University of Louisville. She studies political science and communications with a minor in political marketing.

Kara Beth Poe is a graduate of Magoffin County High School, where she served as president of her school's National Beta Club chapter, a member of the Eastern KY Regional Gear Up Program, and a varsity dance team member. During her junior year, Kara Beth was a United States Senate Page for the 117th Congress. She is a Daughters of the American Revolution 2023 recipient.
