Annual County Walk Challenge
The Annual County Walk Challenge is a friendly competition between counties in Kentucky to see which one can get the most combined steps or minutes in movement in the month of September.
How the Walking Challenge Works
Get Moving
Counties can choose to walk individually, with families, as a community, virtually, or any combination of the above.
Individuals and teams are welcome to walk, run, bike or swim their way to better health while having an opportunity to socialize, build relationships, increase county pride and improve the health of the community. In fact, you can submit minutes in movement for any of your favorite physical activities.
The counties will be divided into three groups according to size. The winning county in each group receives a certificate presented at the Kentucky Coalition for Healthy Communities (KCHC) meeting in October.
Log Steps
Record your actual measured steps (via pedometer, Fitbit, or exercise app on your smart phone such as MyFitnessPal, AppleHealth, MapMyWalk, GoogleFit, etc.) or minutes in movement. We will use an equation to convert minutes in movement into steps. Submit your steps throughout the month of September or submit your totals all at once before our deadline of October 2.
How to submit
Easily log steps or minutes below. Submit daily exercise or submit your monthly total before October 2nd.
